Using a patron name, BINPIN (barcode), and a password, a patron record can be viewed and, from this, the following functions are possible (it may be necessary to scroll to view all options)—
Modify your “PIN” – Please note that this is NOT the same as the “PIN” in “BINPIN”; rather this is a password for an additional level of security.
View items currently checked out. (This option does not appear if no items are checked out.)
---Sort by due date.
---Renew item(s) that are not on hold for another patron (items on hold for another patron cannot be renewed at all) and not overdue (these can only be renewed by Library staff). If the renewal is successful, the status box will have the old due date followed by “RENEWED Now due (date)”. This item has been renewed.
---Attempting to renew an overdue item will result in the status box having the date the item was due followed by “Item is Overdue” in red. This item has not been renewed.
---Attempting to renew an item more than the two (2) allowed times will result in the status box having the date the item is/was due followed by “Too Many Renewals” in red. This item has not been renewed.
---Attempting to renew an item that is on hold for another patron will result in the status box having the date the item is/was due, an indication of how many holds exist on the item, and “On Hold” in red. This item has not been renewed.
View outstanding requests/holds. (This option does not appear if no requests are pending.)
---Cancel all holds.
---Cancel selected holds.
Search the catalog. When searching is completed, it is very important to click the red “LOG OUT” button to end the session. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the session will automatically be logged off.
Click on the “Start Over” button to exit from the patron record. After 5 minutes of inactivity, the session will automatically be logged off.
Please note that once a patron record has been retrieved, it is not possible to limit access to any of the above listed functions.
